We're expanding in 2023 and require another compressed air service engineer (ongoing training will be provided). We're willing to invest the time, if you bring the effort.

vacancy for compressed air service engineerDue to the continued expansion of EDC Air Compressors (Scotland's official SCR distributor), and several new service contracts won, we are now looking for an enthusiastic compressed air service engineer with experience of servicing and fault finding on air compressors. Well-versed in compressor installation & maintenance, you will be willing to expand your knowledge base into variable speed drives, learning about VSD programming and fault finding. This will allow you to expand into other areas of engineering, further developing your skill set (and your potential).

The successful candidate will be based in Erskine, just outside Glasgow and will be trained in all aspects of variable speed drives via: dedicated training courses in the classroom, online tutorials, hands-on experience in the workshop and by assisting EDC's existing team of exceptional field service engineers on site. We're willing to invest substantially in developing & expanding your current skill set but we need to emphasise that basic electrical knowledge is essential for this position. As such, you will already be experienced in dealing with air compressor installations. Working for EDC Air Compressors you'll be supported by an experienced and friendly team and you'll be given the opportunity to increase your knowledge base and further develop your skills as a compressed air engineer.    

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Undertake planned and preventative maintenance of compressed air systems and blowers
  • Perform emergency breakdown fault finding and repair
  • Install and commission air compressors, blowers and associated ancillary equipment
  • Complete service reports, timesheets and recommendations in a timely manner
  • Recommend additional work that assists the customers and enhances performance
  • Maintain good professional working relationships with all existing customers and help develop new customers
  • Comply with both customer health and safety environmental procedures

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Electrical/electronical qualification essential
  • Previous experience working on industrial compressed air systems and blowers
  • Previous experience in field based role is essential
  • Able to work overtime as required with some occasional nights away
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Desire to provide high quality workmanship

Basic electrical knowledge is vital for this position.
