As you may know, EDC Air Compressors is part of a group of companies which includes EDC Scotland and EDC North East.
Both these companies are ABB drive Value Providers. And, in collaboration with other UK ABB drive VPs, they've developed a new remote conditioning monitoring device for ABB inverters (a monitor for other makes of drives such as Siemens and Danfoss is hopefully to follow).
The new monitor - which works by remote telemetry - is the first on the market not only to monitor the inverter itself, but also the ambient conditions your drive is operating in. So, for example, if your plant room begins to get too warm, you'll know, before your drive even gets a chance to get hot under the collar. It's that good. Data is collected every 5 seconds, you can trend up to 25 variables and one DART device can monitor 16 drives (and yes, they can be different types of drive).
